The New Balance Fresh Foam 680v9 GORE-TEX combines Fresh Foam cushioning with a waterproof GORE-TEX membrane. They're running shoes for those who keep training when the weather changes. Rain, puddles or cold mornings are no longer an excuse.
The trusted 680, now ready for winter
The 680 is one of New Balance's most versatile running models, designed for the daily training of beginners and seasoned runners alike. The ninth version keeps the Fresh Foam cushioning base and 8 mm drop. This GORE-TEX edition adds a layer of water protection, making it a solid choice for autumn and winter in Portugal.
Technology and Materials
GORE-TEX membrane: a waterproof barrier that keeps feet dry in rain and on wet ground, while letting sweat escape.
Fresh Foam midsole: a light cushioning foam with about 3% bio-based content, for a smooth stride kilometre after kilometre.
8 mm drop: a balanced heel-to-forefoot transition suitable for most runners.
Rubber outsole: protection in high-wear areas, with good durability for daily use.
Lace-up fastening: a personalised fit for a secure hold while running.
When to wear it
These running shoes are ideal for road training on rainy days, early-morning runs on wet ground, and for anyone who runs all year without checking the forecast. They also work really well off the run, for city walks, the commute to work or trips where you need comfort and protection from bad weather.

Your shoes, over time and with use, become dirty. If you do simple maintenance regularly, you can keep it looking like new.
And as we are here to help, we leave you with a series of recommendations on what to do or not do when cleaning your shoes, and also on how to store them.
To do
Remove dirt - Use an old toothbrush that you have at home to remove dirt from the surface.
Prepare a composition of soap and water - For this step you need a laundry detergent, some hot water and a cloth. With this cloth, carefully rub the most superficial stains on the fabric.
Scrubbing - Wash the cloth you used with hot water and rub it over the shoes to remove the detergent.
Dry the Shoes - This step is very important. You should dry your shoes at room temperature, and place sheets of newspaper paper inside to absorb the liquid.
Laces- You can wash the laces in the machine, or change them.
Air the insoles - When you are washing your shoes, remove the insoles and leave them to air. If the odor continues to be very strong, sprinkle a little baking soda on them.
Do not do
Place the shoes in the washing machine . This may discolor or damage the fabric.
Place shoes near a radiator or heater . To ensure that your shoes stay in the same shape, you should dry them at room temperature.
Use alternative cleaning products, including chemicals and bleach.
Use a hard bristle brush, or scrub hard . This can seriously damage the woven materials used in the models.
In terms of storage, you should always leave your shoes indoors because the sun can cause serious damage to the fabric and turn the soles yellow.
